ReplyDeleteI'm a super fan of sweet iced tea with lemon. I just grew up on it. So it couldn't be anything else for me :) Well, maybe green tea with citrus from Lipton. That's pretty good too!

ReplyDeleteI recently had some lavender lemonade at a local shop here in southern California- it was AMAZING!
ReplyDeletelast summer's favorite was unnamed but delicious! 1 batch = 12 oz frozen juice concentrate (we used pink lemonade, limeade or cherry limeade) 12 oz water, 12 oz vodka, 12 oz beer. mix in beer last as to not foam up all crazy. we made it by the gallon last summer and it was gooooood!!
ReplyDeletebonus, my husband's current favorite is: in a blender add 1 can of mandarin oranges(with juice), fill up the rest of the blender with frozen strawberries then add 8 oz of vodka (i prefer orange flavored, he prefers plain) blend and enjoy a tasty frozen treat.

ReplyDeleteI love limeade in the summer. Refreshing, cooling and the right amount of sweet and tart with some added sugar. (ok, maybe I also just love how you don't need to heat it up to dissolve the sugar in it!)I also change it up by adding cherry syrup.

ReplyDeleteMy favourite summer drink is Pimms and lemonade, preferably with fresh strawberries floating in it. This year, heavily pregnant my favourite is ice cold tonic water ( i pretend there is gin hiding in there!)

ReplyDeleteI drink a lot of suntea---adding herbs from the garden is great like mint lemon blam lavender or even basil and rosemary. Preggo this summer, so I wont be indulging but you could try my fav Alcoholic summer drinks: salty chiuaua---tequila and grapefruit juice over ice with salted rim. Also like V8 in lager.
ReplyDeleteI love my iced tea, but for the summer parties fuzzy drink is the way to go. It is 1/2 bottle (750ml) of lime vodka, about half a container of pineapple juice (I buy the big can), and half a container of coconut milk. Freeze it, then serve topped with Sprite or some kind of lemon lime soda. It really foams up when you add the Sprite, hence the name Fuzzy Drink.

My favorite is sun tea where you set out tea bags in regular water in a pitch for a few hours and let is brew in the sun. You can even make tea ice cubes to put in it so you don't wanter down your tea.

ReplyDeletetake a cup of lemon balm leaves and gently crush them then steep them in hot water. Strain out the leaves( or use a muslin bag) and then you can either add sweetner of choice and serve over ice or serve over ice as flavored water. Very soothing and refreshing.
