I finally determined a layout and got the quilt top pieced together this weekend!
After spending an hour trying to do a random layout and constantly finding problems, I went with color order.. There were just too many yellow and greens to have a random enough layout.
I'm pleased with the result..
now.. how to quilt it!?
I also spent much of the weekend quilting the never-ending pile of
quilt tops I have, i'm pleased to say -- SUCCESS.
More on them, later this week :)
and Quilt Story

ReplyDeleteWow. It's very eye-catching laid out in color order. What a lovely design!
ReplyDeleteAs for quilting - you could try echo quilting one or two lines within each petal and then doing a tight stipple or pebble or "petal" in the white space. Or you could hand quilt inside and outside the petals.
It's simply gorgeous.
This is absolutely gorgeous! And makes me want to get off my behind and start the one that I have in my head. . .

ReplyDeleteI really like the quilt top! I think it was a great idea to put them in color order. The fabrics look really lovely! I would probably quilt flower petals inside the petals and maybe zigzag the borders. Can't wait to see what you decide!
ReplyDeleteYou did a good job on the block placement, it looks perfect like this! Beautiful job :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! Like the fact you went by colour rather than random. It's much harder to do when you've made blocks then come to notice most are the same colour scheme!
