Bee block roundup

Well, after last Thursdays unexpected sewing day, I was bit by the bug and the sewing continued! Woohoo!!!

I finished some bee blocks..

do. good stitches for September

do. good stitches for August

3x6 test block
i've also cut all the pieces for the other blocks I need to make

We Bee Modern Too September

Lastly, the leaves are falling in Hawaii
More on these later this week

Tomorrow's the signup for SS classes! Woohoo!
I was really stressing about getting into the classes I want
but after reading the google group emails,
I'm finding the consensus to be that there are more than enough people out there
willing to help and teach during our free time,
which makes me feel WAY better..
So, if you're like me.. quit stressing and get ready for a great weekend :)

W.i.P.

What? I have a W.i.P ?!
Well, I have works in progress that are goals..

1. DWR arcs - 12 down, 10 more this week

PLUS, the amazing Jess saw that I was using Fandango and
graciously offered to send me some scraps
I greedily immediately accepted!
All cut up and ready to go!

2. Night and Day quilt - these are squares made by the talented ladies of the We Bee Modern Too bee

I have a few more to finish up
then i'm making some to add to the bunch
I'm thinking this needs some gray/ash sashing to tone down the busy-ness
thoughts?

3. Mystery Project
Sorry, no pictures, recipient reads the blog
but you can see them through my instagram
follow me at
knotted_thread

4. 3x6 quilt blocks
I'd like to get the test block done this week

5. We Bee Modern Too - August
done!

6. do.good stitches - August
no progress.

Lastly,
A new blog hop i'd like to tell you about.

Soma is running it and she has roped me in convinced me I can do it
She's running an October paper piecing event where everyday a new blog will post an original paper pieced pattern for free, that is affiliated with Halloween.
Now, I personally have NEVER made my own pattern, however,
with Soma in my corner, I think i'll give it a shot
Go check it out, she's got some more spaces to fill
She's welcoming everyone, newbies, intermediates, and advanced so if your
looking to push yourself outside your comfort zone like me to improve your ability
jump on board, we can help each other!
:)

As always, i'm linking up with Lee

Toot! Toot!

As you may know i'm not typically one to toot my own horn..
Today though, i'm too excited to care!

Matching seams!!
My nemesis and victory!

 My first attempt at curves!
This block is for the love circle at do.good stitches

I mayyy have had since January to do this block?
We took off January but it was posted so we could start February early if we wanted.
We used the pattern by Christine for this block.
If you're looking to try it, I definitely recommend it, the pattern is beautifully written and super clear to understand.

So what if it took me almost 2.5 hours to complete?
So what if I meticulously read and reread the pattern before I did anything!
(this is definitely not how I function)

So, all in all
I'm pleased.
Am I willing to try this again?
Not in the near future, but eventually. I do like the design a ton.

Spent this weekend building my inventory
etsy store is fully restocked!

do. good stitches

I'm a recently joined member of the Love circle at
do. good stitches and I just finished my FIRST block.

Rachel is the quilter for December and she requested
Herringbone blocks

Luckily, the tutorial is amazing, but somehow I still had the toughest time and had to unpick and restitch numerous times to make sure everything was covered.
It's on the larger size measuring 11"x22" completed
Overall, pretty pleased
though it may be a while before I attempt it again,
or make a quilt from these guys :)

We took January off, so I won't have anything to show till February again.
Somehow, I think i'll find something to fill my time until then
